Being Divine Self

Miriam's Meditations
Being Divine Self
Show Notes Transcript

When we breathe in our practice, we open to our deeper being. We all want to know who we are, and on this deeper level we are our Divine Self. The Divine Self is us. It is our expanded, greater being. As we slow down, breathe with our practice, our Divine Self and our everyday self blend, come into oneness. We can ask questions, listen for wisdom, allow challenges to resolve. When we return from practice, the Divine Self awareness can linger, bringing meaning and grace to our everyday world. Gratitude to all of you for practicing with me, with all of us here.

Miriam:

Breathing. Welcome to all of you are listening and breathing and following along with this wonderful practice of pranayama and meditation, thank you so much for joining. And being part of this practice, as we all meditate together, we create a field of energy, we share our complementary vibrations, you have frequencies that I don't have, I have frequencies that you may not have. But when we bring them all together and create a kind of holy soup, then we can augment each other's experience simply by sharing the breath, and being in a meditative state together. And it definitely makes it easier to reach a meditative state when you are breathing with others, and meditating together. And that even extends to these recordings, these podcasts that we're putting together. We've been talking over these last few weeks about the divine self, that holy extended, expanded vast you. And so when you are asking for connection to your Divine Self, let us know in our very heart of hearts, that we are simply asking for a knowing of beingness of our greater self. It is not something outside of ourselves. And yet, it may seem that way in the beginning, when we are first beginning to make these forays of consciousness outside of our ordinary world. So begin now to bring your consciousness away from the external reality, the busy world of the every day and into the center of your being and we will start with the breathing body. So just noticing your body at this moment. Notice your seat upon the chair and your feet upon the floor. Or if they are folded under you. Let your spine drop long and tall out of your pelvis and reach through the back of the neck and the crown of the head so that you have a long, tall spine imagining the crown of your head reaching higher and higher all the way up to the sky. Whether it is night or day just noticing how your breath is as you come in and out with the breath. Relax your tongue to the bottom of your mouth. Soften your eyeballs and the spot between your eyebrows. So we have a comfortable relaxed state from the very start. Now just breathing in and out. Notice how as you breathe in, the air is dry and cool. And you can feel it on the sides of your nostrils. As you breathe out, it's warm and moist. And you may feel it in a different place in your nose. Maybe higher up deeper inside. And just breathe in this relaxed fashion for a few moments. Noticing whatever you can about how the air comes in and how the air goes out. Deep inside your sinuses. There are some fleshy mounds, we'll call them. The proper term for them is turbine it's just like a turbine that moves water around to create electricity. These turbine it's inside of your sinuses. Spin the air as it comes in warming It, moistening it so that as it travels down into your lungs, it's not a shock to the lungs. This is why breathing through the nose is generally superior to breathing through your mouth. Because the air comes in and is spun along on these turbinates. So you have all this lovely spinning air flowing into your body, head down into your lungs Did you notice it's a fun thing to think about? To see if you can recognize the feeling of these spinning flows of air as they come in. Now, obviously, the flesh is not spinning, it is stationary, but it is curved and molded in such a way to cause the air to turn. I've always found this really fascinating about the air coming in and out of the body. And just simply noticing that flow of air can be very relaxing. It's something that is always with you everywhere you go. standing, sitting lying down. And I encourage you as a student of breath to practice your breath and

all three of these positions.

Miriam:

Whether you are sitting up tall How does your breath feel when you're laying down. You are not using your postural muscles when you lay down and so sometimes that can be a lovely way to explore the breath because your spinal muscles can very much relax and you can really feel the expansion of the ribcage. Make it very soft as the breast comes in. And as the breath relaxes out. And how do you feel with your breath when you were standing this is something you can do waiting on a line in a store or walking through the park or dancing or bouncing on a trampoline noticing if the breath is responsive to whatever it is that you are doing. If you are painting with a small paintbrush, not painting your house, your breath will be different than if you are sitting and breathing. Preparing for meditation. Recently, we talked about solidifying the breath by folding the thumbs across the fleshy pads of the hands and closing your four fingers around your thumbs and then resting your hands on your thighs or your lap. Now exhale all of the air in your lungs to prepare. Now as you breathe in, squeeze your thumbs with your fingers stronger and stronger not causing pain but creating a kind of firm pressure. And then let it go for relaxing your hands by keeping your fingers curled around your zones. Once again breathing and squeeze your thumbs and exhale, relaxing your hands. Once more, squeeze your thumbs with your fingers breathing in and relax. Let the birth release. Release your hands wiggle your fingers. Now just breathe in and breathe out. The breath is very different. The breath with the squeezing of the hands and squeezing of the thumbs caused a kind of concentration of the breath energy deeper inside your body somehow. And for me, it made a much easier to get a big breath. So if you ever find yourself in a circumstance where you're breathing too rapidly, or have an anxious breath, you can use this solidifying of the breath to slow the breath down and create some expansion in the breathing space. Now, bring the first two fingers of the right hand to touch your third eye and we'll do our spirals to 36 opening to the light in the third eye. Breathing in and out The third eye spiraling to begin 1-234-567-8910 1112 1314 1516 1718 1920 2122 2320 420-526-2720 820-930-3130 230-334-3536 Pause breathe in your third eye. Exhale. Now your third eye cleansing and clearing this lens of perception. Right hand remains stationary left hand comes up to place it upon your heart, heart mind uniting breath. Breathe in your third eye exhale into your heart, releasing the mind to the heart. Breathe in again, the third eye. Exhale, releasing to the heart's wisdom. Once more breathing and it's a third eye during the breath deep into the head cleansing, and collecting and exhaling all of that energy from the head from the mind to the heart, heart and mind are blending. Now breathe in at your heart and allow that breath to rise, lifting into the mind. And then exhale that blended breath back down into his heart breathing at your heart lifting blending and exhaling back into the sweetness of the heart. Heart and Mind are wedded breathing in your heart the breath rises illuminating the mind and exhaling back down into the right hand remain stationary left hand drops down to your loud alternate nostril breathing breathe in through both sides of the nose exhale through both sides of the nose close off with your thumb and breathe in the left side and close off with your fingers lift up yourself breathe out breathe insane clothes off lift up your fingers breathe breathe in the same side close off your fingers lift up your phone breathe out breathe and say close off with to be fingers breathe out breathe insane plus off out other breathe insane out other insane let your hand drop to your lap and breathe out both. Now just pause for a moment. Breathe in and out your natural breath open your eyes and begin tapping on your breathing space. tapping and tapping upper chest, lower ribs upper back if you can reach All right, pause with your fingers on your upper chest. Now breathing, tapping, tapping, tapping padding with flat hands padding as you retain the breath. And now exhale all the air in your lungs. Breathing, tapping, tapping all over the breathing space tapping, tapping padding as you retain the breath, padding, padding. And our exhale, let it go. Good. Eyes open, palms up, we're going to cleanse. Breathe in. Exhale, three puffs. Again, breathe in, three puffs out. Yeah, place your hands on your abdomen, we're going to do some Chapala body breathing and other strong cleansing action. Now this breath is done with the mouth closed in and out the nose only. You'll breathe in, and then exhale sharply with your abdomen, squeezing your abdomen very strongly. And so don't worry about the inhale that happens by itself. Just imagine your belly is coming in and N and N and N like a bellows. Let's do a couple of rounds to say 12 And then we'll pause. Alright, breathe in. And exhale completely to prepare. Begin pause, breathe in and out and I will do it again. Ready? Begin. All right, eyes open palms up to cleanse breathe in. Three puffs out. Again, breathe in. Eyes open. Three puffs out right, close your eyes let's do one retained breath and when cleansing. Just breathe in and out. Now breathe in full and complete and deep rising all the way to the top of the breath. And pause. Retain the breath stretched and open around the breath. making room for all this new air and life vitality. Now exhale completely draw your abdomen and exhale more. Let's do one more just like that breathing. rising to the top. Pause, stretched and open around the breath. And now open your mouth and let it go. Really emptying of all the breath. Now eyes opened. One cleansing breathing eyes closed. Remembering that the Cleansing Breath is one breath in and one breath out. There's no little inhale between the three puffs. It's just three puffs out of the same exhalation. All right, one minor Yogi exercise. Inhale arc your arms into a prayer pose above your head and the center of my being out and out and out. I call forth my perfect blueprint of being and exhale is your arms dropped down to you eyes remain closed noticing the place to which the breath is carried you any feelings of energized or perhaps even a vibration or a buzzing feeling? is Prana my vitality that enters the body on the breath. And as you have been doing these pounding on the exercises, that prana circulates all over your body, nourishing each and every cell. So, take a moment for gratitude, one for the breath, gratitude also for the pranayama practice itself, and these beautiful exercises that have come down to us through the ages from the wise ones. Gratitude for the vitality itself and gratitude to have a practice, we have gathered enough merit in this lifetime to have come to the breath as a teacher, for we are indeed fortunate to know these exercises, and to have this practice and to have the space and safety and willingness to practice the discipline to show up for the company of all of the others who are listening and breathing and meditating together gratitude is a very high energy tone and can shift any situation and so, it can sometimes be hard to find gratitude for things that are difficult this is something we can ask our divine self about. So, as we sit in this moment of clarity and focus, expand out to become your Divine Self allow an expansion an opening witnessing a beingness being who you truly are being this wise, vast Omnisphere itself I can see the patterns of your life and knows your purpose and is always reaching to you from these deeper dimensions to assist you in any way with any question with any piece of work that you were working on, any expansion you would like to open to in this moment, we are breathing as our divine self we are calling the Divine Self close and close and closer there is no longer any sort of division or boundary that separates us from this greater deeper wiser self becoming deeply listening your divine self wants for you all good things. Your wellbeing a free flow of wisdom and information for you as you move through your life using your focus to find the things that draw you and the flows that you wish to follow. In this moment, if you can if there is something that calls to you a flow of inquiry or activity, a path a purpose a project Big yawning I just don't know what is next where am I? These are questions the divine self can assist you with and while you may not hear direct answer, right here in this moment, just the act of opening to this greater portion of who you truly are starts their flow of wisdom and knowingness, penetrating any defenses or difficulty in arriving and it is only for us to be alert to the signs and signals and knowingness that will come in whatever form and it really can be a song on the radio or the wisdom of a child or a dream or even one of those precious aha

moments.

Miriam:

These are pivotal times and as we travel along a spiritual path, we often notice things falling away that no longer serve for as you rise in the frequencies to the higher and higher octaves of light and realize the beauty and the splendor that is you and this beautiful world that we inhabit. We no longer find we can settle for less. And that things that had been simply a mild irritation are suddenly into because you have changed, you have shifted to higher and higher degrees of light and knowing and expression where something falls away there is an opening and while that opening may feel like a chasm of unknown, maybe even a little scary. Now that there is it is simply space and there is guidance and when you put your foot out to take your next step, there will be something underneath your foot upon which to place it even if you cannot see the next step you can slide your foot out ever so carefully. If there is not a step, it is said you will be given wings to fly. So, perhaps instead of your foot upon the path, it is wings to soar someplace you never really expected you were going to go and there are friends and work and purpose and love and joy and laughter or difficulty because sometimes there remains more that needs to be clear before the way is known but we always have our divine guidance and we can rely upon we can learn to hear the voice from within and it may be our ancestors nudging us along but it truly is. Your Divine Self is available to you. It is you so now in these very challenging, much changing times. Were the way ahead is often not known We can rest in our practice, in the light that it generates, in the wisdom that comes. In sometimes just in the movements of the practice itself, the meditation, the brownie, the deep listening, the expanding, being, being alive and as we are the night there is the light, there cannot be darkness, where there is light do we become light bearers like a lighthouse at the shore, where the rocks are and the storm of the sea which just in this moment, look out across and see that there is another Lighthouse over there. And if you can look with your imagination beyond the curve of the earth, you will see that there are many lighthouses indeed, there are a vast number of lights all across this planet and enter the deeper dimensions. The beings of light are all here and we are beings of light. So are we may not be able to see it sometimes with our physical eyes, we can do it with our hearts. We are not alone there are many others as we practice being our divine self breathing as our divine self being alive can become so natural, we may forget we're even doing it until someone sees us and is drawn to the light and we witnessed the light in their face allow your light to shine out in and out and allow the light from other outposts of light to shine back toward you. And notice how the light is when it begins to blend together finding resonance and harmonies and a pattern begins to weave together that unfolds the entire world with life. Call yourself back now from these extended expanded spaces and recognize again your breathing body notice anyways that your breath has changed from when you first sat down to do your practice. Notice how your body may feel more relaxed and at the same time lively. enlivened. The emotions are fluid and flowing. The mind is clear give me thanks and gratitude to the Divine Self, the inner being this practice all of the beings of light who gather to assist test all of the Earth beings who are practicing along with us, there are hundreds of us now.
