Temple of Healing

March 20, 2023 Miriam Season 4 Episode 10
Miriam's Meditations
Temple of Healing
Show Notes Transcript

This week we do some different breath exercises. We begin with a review of the three parts of our breathing space: abdomen, rib cage, and upper chest. We practice filling each portion of breathing space with breath one at a time. Then we put it all together into a Complete Breath. We carry that Complete Breath into the Orbit Breath, a powerful breath that brings light nourishment into the nervous system. Finally we use our imagination and focus to visit a Temple of Healing. We are greeted warmly and work with 3 colors of light to nourish our physical body, our emotional body and our mental body, bringing each one to a higher order. Finally we notice our spiritual body, a fine, pure white light all around us. The higher Harmony of this Temple has enhanced our ability to find our spiritual body. We finish our journey with gratitude and return to our ordinary reality, refreshed and renewed.

Speaker 2:

Welcome to Miriam's meditations. I'm so pleased that you are here and listening, and I want you, uh, right here at the beginning of the program, call your attention to a special episode of Miriam's Meditations that was released last week, and it's called Elements of Breath. Elements of Breath is the recording of a workshop that I did at Lafayette, Louisiana. It's about an hour long and it's a lot of detailed information about breath, about proma, and some explanations of some of the breaths that we do in the class. It's really great. It's a lot of fun. We do some breaths as we talk about breath and proma, but it's a special episode and I hope that you'll find a moment to give it a listen. So in the last few weeks, we've been doing various attunements for our physical body, for our emotional body, and for our mental body. And today we have a guided journey to a temple of healing that we are going to visit, that's going to create some harmony through all the layers of our being and bring us into a stance of oneness and harmonious layers all coming into one. Let close our eyes and we'll begin with some breath awareness. So just drawing your consciousness within and letting go of the outside world. Feel your body and feel your breath in the body. And as you exhale, let your shoulders drop away from your ears. Lengthen the back of the neck and let the crown of the head reach toward the sky. And as you're dropping your shoulders away from your ears and lengthening the back of the neck and drawing the crown of the head toward the sky, relax your tongue. I don't know about you guys, but I walk around with my jaw a little tight more often than I wish, and I'll find my tongue glued to the top of my mouth and a lot of tension. So this is an invitation to waggle your jaw around. Open and close your jaw. Uh, and just let the tongue rest at the bottom of the mouth. Now sometimes when we do that, we'll find the very tip of the tongue behind the teeth, the front teeth at the top just touching where the teeth and the pallet meet. And that is a nice place to rest the tongue. There's an energetic lock there that creates a circulation of energy. See if you can rest your tongue just behind the front teeth and have a soft, relaxed tongue. I invite you to try that and see if you notice anything about your experience with your tongue in this position. Hmm. Just breathing in and out and noticing how your breath is in this moment. Now see if you can relax and expand the breath into your abdomen as you inhale. So your next inhalation, open your belly and draw the breath all the way down into the abdomen. Your ribs may or may not move very much. And then release and relax. Just letting the abdomen deflate like a balloon. And doing that again, drawing the breath deep into the body, inflate the abdomen, and then just relaxing on your exhale the belly deflates. One more time, A full breath deep into the body, inflating the abdomen. And as you exhale this time, draw the belly button in as though it's going to go all the way to the backbone. And you're going to get a nice full exhalation, emptying all the way completely and resting in the bottom of the breath, the winter of the breath, that place of enoughness and faith. And then when your body is ready, let the breath arise all of its own and see where in your breathing space the breath comes. Perhaps now the breath will come a little higher into the lower ribs and exhaling the ribs. Drop back down. Inhaling again. Let the ribs expand front sides and back at the bottom. And exhale, notice the ribs releasing and returning to a resting position. And then one more full inhalation, lifting the ribs and exhaling. Now when you do that rib breath, you may or may not have any breath into the belly. If you breathe too far into the belly, the ribs may not move very much. Now our next inhalation, let's see if we can get the breath into the upper chest to maybe place your hands on your upper chest above your heart. And on your next inhalation, see if you can let the breath be in the upper part of the breathing space and release. It's a little bit smaller of a space, and you might notice you need to keep your belly firm and your ribs a little stationary. Breathe in again upper chest, try to do it without lifting your shoulders towards your ears. Exhale Once more, breathing into the upper chest. Oh, that one was really nice. Exhale. All right, just natural breathing for a moment. It takes many years of practice to be able to allow the breath to arise into the upper chest. So if your upper chest did not move very much, you're just on the way to practicing that to have a full and complete breath in all parts of the breathing space. Now let's see if we can put all of that together. In complete breath, place one hand on your abdomen and the other hand on your heart. Whichever hand position feels natural to you, you can try both positions if you want for me, my right hand on my belly and left hand on my heart. Now exhale all the air in your lungs. Inhale low in the body, in the abdomen, breathe into the middle part of your chest and then all the way up to the top. And exhale. So we wanna get some breath into all three of these categories. Exhaling completely, breathe in again, low in the body, lower ribs, that's your mid breath. And then up into the top of the chest. And exhale. This is easier lying down. So if you wanna try this later in a prone position, I encourage that one more time. Breathe in low, mid, let your belly draw in just a little bit. See if you can breathe way up high. And exhale and release. Now just play with that full breath, a few breaths on your own. So seeing if you can get the breath into the lower abdomen, mid-range in your ribs and upper chest on each inhalation. And then let the exhalation just be easy and gentle and complete. It doesn't have to empty in any order. Now relax from that practice and just breathe and ease deep natural breath. Notice any differences in your breath now than when you begin. And now with a soft, gentle breath, we are going to practice the orbit breath. The orbit breath is an excellent opportunity to practice focus and inner sensing. The orbit breath draws in at the third eye, and your attention follows the breath down the spinal cord all the way to the tailbone. And on your exhalation, the breath travels back up the spinal cord and out the crown of the head. So let's try that together and see if you can notice all the sections of your spinal cord, your spine. Exhale all the air in your lungs to prepare. And now breathe in at your third eye and follow the breath down the neck, down the ribcage at the waist, all the way to the sacrum and the tailbone. And then exhaling back up. Sacrum, waist, ribcage, neck out the crown of the head. Now your next second inhalation comes in the crown of the head past the neck, the ribs, the waist, the sacrum all the way to the tailbone, and up and out past all of the sections of the spine. Out the crown of the head. Again next round in it, the third eye traveling down past the neck bones. The spine that's connected to the ribs, the waistline, baseline, the sacrum and the tailbone, and then exhaling up past the sacrum, waist, the ribs, the neck, out the crown of the head. This breath comes in at the crown of the head down past all the sections of the spine to the tip of the tailbone. And then exhaling fluidly and freely up out the crown's ahead. One more round. Breathe in. It's the third eye down the spine, exhaling fully up the spine, out the crown of the head. Breathing in at the crown of the head down the spinal cord to the tip of the tailbone and exhaling out the crown of the head. Rest. For a moment, I'd like you to notice your spinal cord and your nervous system. This breath draws light into the spinal cord and to the nervous system. A silvery light. It's a very soothing breath to practice. And you might notice portions of the spine are not always accessible to the focus as you learn this breath. That does come with time. But you might just notice if there were parts of the spinal cord that you could not imagine as you let your focus move in this way. All right, I'd like to do one retained breath. Inhale flowing all the way to the top of the breath, and when you arrive at that fullness, stretch and open around the breath and exhale. Ah completely. Again, breathing in. Pause and retain the breath, opening around the breath and exhaling. Eyes open for one cleansing breath, palms facing up. Inhale. Exhale. Three puffs, close your eyes. And now just rest. Noticing the breath come into an awareness of your inner being higher self or your guide. And in this time, we are going to take a journey together to a beautiful place of healing and harmony. So I invite you to relax your mental body and go deeper within, connected to your own inner wisdom and your guide. And imagining a beautiful landscape out in front of you. And the landscape is filled with light. It's brilliant, colorful. You may have a felt sense of this beautiful landscape flowing out in front of you. And now you're moving along through the landscape. It may be open with hills or maybe there are some trees. The sun is shining, the sky is really beautiful. Your heart is very full and the distance or comes into view a beautiful temple. And you are using your imagination as a sense. And you may feel that you are simply imagining it. This is fine. We are moving into the inner realms and allowing our guidance to move us through until we are at the steps of the temple. And there is a beautiful radiant light emanating from within And perhaps even beautiful music or wind chimes or the sound of a, when we shake a breath and we exhale the breath. And with gratitude, step into the temple into a great hall that seems to be illuminated somehow. And there are two helper beings that come and greet you, who will assist you as you are moving through this beautiful, peaceful surrounding. So we greet these helper beans and begin to move a little more deeply into the space. And there is a ringing tone of harmony here. Temple is dedicated to harmony. It seems much larger inside than it looked from the outside. And as you move in, it expands. And here we are going to call into harmony, all the various layers of hering. And now you are being invited to lay yourself down in a comfortable place and just relax and rest knowing that you are safe. And there's one of the helpers at your head and the other one at your feet. And they're going to assist us in creating the layers of harmony and in the safe and comfortable place, notice that there is a golden light. It's almost as though that it is thick like honey, and it is all around you. It's very soothing. It's just the right temperature for you. It makes your body feel a little heavy so that you can fully relax and soften. And this golden light is all throughout your physical body. All of the cells of the body receive the golden light, the muscles and bones, the skin, all of the organs inside, even all of the microbial population of our bodies, welcoming this beautiful light and feeling a kind of order that is coming into all of the cells as though they are now responding to that beautiful, perfect blueprint that we speak about when we do our minor yogi exercise for this blueprint is with you always. And the body wants to be in the greatest level of harmony possible. So let the golden light flow through all of your cells, through all of your organs, noticing if it pauses in any one particular place. But notice, especially the higher degree of order that comes into being through this harmony of the golden lion, the slow the cells of the body enter a kind of new alignment, a higher communication with each other. And now the helper beings are shifting the energy to address the emotional body. The emotional body is an energy body that surrounds us at all times within us. Perhaps you are feeling something in your heart center. The light has changed it's hue. The light is particular to your emotional body. Noticing it outta felt sense. This higher degree of order with all of your emotions, allowing them to be very flowing. Maybe breathe into your heart center, allowing the light, whatever color the light is for you in this moment. It may change as the light does. Its work on your emotional body, calling the emotional body into harmony with the physical body. And now the light shifts again to a kind of sterling or bluish hue for the mental body, noticing that the mental and emotional body have a relationship. But it is a smooth and fluid relationship where the thoughts call forward, harmonious emotions, truth, emotions, truth-based thinking of the highest order. And that truth is that which rings inside of you that you know intuitively as truth. So this light, this sterling bluish light, cleanses and clears the emotional body and brings it to a higher degree of order. Perhaps there are lines of light that intersect inside your head and they are coming into a higher pattern, a more beautiful pattern, Thoughts coming from higher mind, the highest that your mind can reach, being a conduit for this higher intelligence all the way to you. So the mental body is harmonized and ordered. So you now have a recognition of these various sheaths of your being, your physical body, your emotional body, your mental body. And as they come into this harmony, this higher degree of harmony that is present in this beautiful temple where we are abiding in this moment, your spiritual self, that pure light, light that is you, is brought more completely into your awareness. It is nourished, it is balanced. It moves with this very high degree of order that is harmony and your consciousness. Now as you breathe in, allow the light to fluidly move throughout all the layers of your being, connecting each to each in a harmonious pattern that is quite beautiful. You may begin to see layers of light and color or sense, beautiful flows and a richness that comes from being in this very harmonious configuration of all of the layers of your being as it comes into oneness. And this sense of it being in layers dissolves and falls away. So just let that beautiful white light expand and Higher degree of order, higher consciousness called forward by harmony. And in this harmony, you are more adept and aware, more alive and invigorated, more attuned, clarified, purified. And now the helper beings have a special gift for you. And if you are, if you are willing, if you would like just say yes inside your own heart to receive this special configuration of light patterns and frequencies that have been attuned, especially for you, do this now. And now the attunement is complaint. You may sit up and arise and come back into a standing position in turn and offer gratitude to the helper beings who are here assisting you. And they thank you for your courage and your openness to arrive and they welcome you anytime you would like to visit this temple of healing light. So as you were standing fully alighted, there's one final gift of light as it pours down from above and illuminates you in a beautiful white light that enhances all the frequencies that you are in this moment.

Is a secret pattern in the light. So now we will move ourselves out of the vast chamber, back to the doorway of the temple, and taking ourselves down the stairs, out onto the green, onto the pathway and away. And as we reach the parameters of this beautiful space, we find ourselves back in our own being in the center of your own body and consciousness. Just take a moment to notice anything that you can about this particular moment, your energy set that serves to ground this energy into your reality, your consciousness and your body. Bring your awareness now back to your breath, bringing in a full and complete breath and exhaling. And now on your next inhalation arc your arms into a prayer pose above your head. I am whole and perfect, even as my mother, father, God is whole and perfect within me. And exhale as your arms dropped down to your lap, a minor yogi exercise to seal the practice. Now calling yourself all the way back to your breathing body, perhaps rubbing your hands together, placing your hands upon your heart in Thanksgiving for these beautiful gifts and for the quality of courage that we all are developing. To be in these high realms of light. Recognize harmony, wherever it is, wherever you find it, where you will be carrying the note of harmony to a greater and greater degree. Now I bring my hands together at my heart. In Thanksgiving, I witness the light within you and the light within me. And knowing that in this place of the light, we are one. Mahalo.
