Chapter 7: Evolving Your Inner Image: Releasing the True Self
Our central idea this week is: “The more you can view yourself from a higher perspective the more accurately you are seeing who you are.” This quote from Chapter 7 of Personal Power Through Awareness by Sanaya Roman is our guidestar. We learn to use light and awareness to first understand who we think we are, then to open to who we truly are. Using this light conversation, we develop new ideas and beliefs that uplift us, nourish us and open us to the freedom of being alive in the now.

Blessings. And welcome to Miriam's meditations. Thank you for being here. Thank you for listening, sharing and breathing with us. As you may know, we are working our way through a beautiful book called personal power through awareness by Cynthia Roman to channeled work by the guide, Oren, who is helping us to learn more about being a spiritual person, a sensitive person in this world that we all share and inhabit together. And you don't have to have the book to be benefiting from the work that we're doing. Each chapters just can stand on its own. The messages are very universal. I invite you to find it though on your favorite bookseller personal power through awareness. I've worked my way through it many times and always getting benefit every time I do. So this week, we are in chapter seven. And we are doing the the chapter is called evolving your inner image, releasing the true self. And from that i i believe that Oren means that we are opening to our true self releasing the true self from any hindrances that may be limiting who we truly are. And as I read through this chapter again, and looked at it in preparation for visiting with you today, the thing that struck me the most powerfully about the chapter is this quote. And Oren writes, The more often you can view yourself from a higher perspective, the more accurately you are seeing who you are. The more often you can view yourself from a higher perspective, the more accurately you are seeing who you are. And I just found that really enlivening and comforting, that brought me a sense of upliftment. In recent days, recent months, I have been spending quite a bit of time by myself, which was new, for me, it's been a long, long, long time, since I've spent this much time alone. And one of the things I find is that I'm talking to myself out loud. I'm talking about whatever little things are happening and what I'm doing, I talked to the dog who's in the other room, she can't even hear me. And then I realized that I said, some kind of icky things to myself, I'm like, I would have thought that I was a very positive person and had a very positive self image, you know, got that sort of confidence. And, and I thought, wow, I am saying some really not friendly things to myself, which I'm not going to repeat, because I don't want to give them any more amplification. But it surprised me. And I, when I came to this chapter in the book, I thought, okay, I could use a little work here, I could use a little updating of my inner narrative of who I am. So in this chapter, and encourages us to think of those things, where do we gather our ideas of who we are. Much of it came from our family of origin, or even our religious background, our cultural impressions. And we're and also tells us that your images of yourself are in a matrix all around you. It's like energy pattern all around you, that come directly from how you hold yourself in your self image. So I invite you to think for a few moments what your basic definition is, of who you are, and maybe to yourself or if you are listening on your own, and might write down a few sentences about who you are, who you believe yourself to be. What your qualities are, just so that we can have a sense of kind of a baseline, this is where we're starting. These are the things I know to be true about me. And even some things that we think about ourselves that are we think better, like more positive, like I'm a nice person, or I'm a kind person that even those kinds of ideas can be sort of limiting if, if we're not kind, or we're not nice, then what do we judge ourselves harshly. Or we were kind of bruised by the times that we're not our very best self. So it's important to understand that even positive things that we think about ourselves can be a limitation. So what Oren is encouraging us to do is to show up, kind of without those boundaries, if we can, even in some of the time, so that we experience ourselves a little more freely, a little more openly, a little more in that very high, true light of who we really are. So it's a kind of interesting practice. And that's what that's where we are going to see if we can open to some of that in this time that we are together. Today, we're gonna do a couple of practices after we do our breath meditation. So let's just close your eyes now. And begin to think about your breath. When we return to the breath, when we close our eyes and draw ourselves in, we are truly with ourselves. And our breath is one of our most intimate creations. And it is a wonderful way to return to the self. Now, in this moment, when you are recognizing your breath and drawing yourself in, just take a moment see what's in your mind. What are the thoughts that have been floating around and maybe some thought that you've had about yourself recently? Positive, negative, neutral, whatever. Just to begin to take a kind of inventory of the self. What is it I believe about myself. Taking a belief inventory is a very useful practice. It can be one that's very useful to do on a regular basis, because we change over time. So as you breathe in, let your inhale flowing freely. And as you exhale, let that exhalation be somewhat longer than your inhalation. So if it helps you to count how long it takes to take an inhale maybe a count of three or four. And then exhale twice as long as you can count of six or eight. Just really empty of the breath. And as you're exhaling, let your mouth open and say. Again, breathing in easy, gentle. Notice how your body's calming down your nervous system is switching over to your rest restful digestive nervous system. One more time. It's that ha sound without actually vocalizing it's more of that whispery tone that we're looking for. That brings you into that calmer, centered place. And now as we do our pronti on a practice, just notice if any thoughts are arising, you might even give yourself a suggestion to allow yourself to be aware of what you believe about yourself, what you chronically think about yourself, and any ways that you could improve or lift or add light to your thoughts about yourself. All right, let's begin to bring the first two fingers of your right hand to touch the third eye. And we draw the breath in as the third eye. We draw spirals on the forehead going toward the left first so left and down and right and up. And will spiral to a count of 36 Pick him 1-234-567-8910 1112 1314 1516 1718 1920 2122 2320 420-526-2720 820-930-3132 33 Sorry 435 36 Pause. Inhale your third eye II and exhale at your third eye cleansing and clearing your intuitive third eye. Right hand remain stationary, left hip comes up and place it upon your heart. And we'll do the heart mind uniting breath. Inhale your third eye. And now as you exhale, allow the breath to drop into the heart. This is an energy pathway that is created between the mind and the heart. Again, breathe in your third eye. Collecting the energy there and allowing that breath to drop gently into the heart. The all of that collected energy, blending with the heart. One more time, breathe in at the third eye. And exhale, easily releasing to the heart. Now breathe into your heart. And allow the breath to rise up into the mind. blending with the minds energy and now exhaling back into the heart. Inhale at the heart, the breath rises, lifting and blending and exhaling easily and peacefully back down into the heart, heart and mind are beginning to blend. Once more breathing with the heart. Lift. Blend with the mind and exhale back down into the sweetness of the heart. Heart and Mind are one. Again, right hand remain stationary left hand drops to your lap. alternate nostril breathing. First we breathe in and we breathe out through both sides of the nose. Keeping the mouth closed. Now once more breathe in. And use your thumb to close off your right nostril. Exhaling out the left side only. Breathe in that same side. Close off with your fingers. Lift up your son or heat out. presencing goes off you're with yourself. Lift up your fingers, breathe out breathe in, same side clears off. Lift up your son breathe out breathe and sing. Close off, out other breathe in same clothes off and other. Breathe insane. Let your hand drop to your lap and breathe out both. Alright, let's just begin tapping on our breathing space with our fingertips. tapping and tapping. tapping and tapping. Tapping on your upper back. You can reach a bit of your breathing space here tapping on your lower ribs. Keep breathing. Alright, let's pause. Fingertip still on your upper chest. Inhale, tapping, tapping, tapping padding as you retain the breath. padding. padding. Exhale. Let it go. Again, tapping, tapping all over the breathing space tapping padding is retained for us. And exhale, let it go. Eyes open palms up for cleansing breaths. Breathe in and exhale out three long puffs. exhale completely. Inhale again cleanse hands dropped your lap, eyes closed. Let's do our retained breath. Inhale through both sides of your nose rising to the top over the top of your breathing space and pause there. Retain the breath, but stretch and open around the breath. Now, open your mouth and let it go. Really fully exhale. Once again, breathe in, rising to the top. Stretch and open around the breath release one cleansing breath eyes open palms up, breathe in and cleanse close your eyes let your hands drop Chela. Minor Yogi exercise, inhale, arms are into a prayer pose above your head. I am whole and perfect even as my mother father God is whole and perfect within me. And exhale is your arms drop down to your lap. As you practice pranayama, your breath becomes finer. And your relationship with your breath begins to change. You become more aware when your breath is uneven, or constricted in some way. And if it does these things, it's important to think about your thoughts. Recognize what you are thinking. And notice whether or not those thoughts accurately reflect reality. Is this really true for you? And perhaps how does that make you feel? How are you feeling when the breath is fine and smooth and easy. As you practice you begin to become very familiar. And the body enjoys very much breathing in this manner. This type of breathing is a gift that you give yourself. And this beautiful body which is carrying your consciousness around in this lifetime. This is a gift to your body. Now as we talk further about our self image, feel free to use your breasts in any manner that appears to you. Any ideas that you have that wouldn't be able to use your breath to clear something you would like to release to amplify or nourish something you want to bring forth. Perhaps in this moment, we could connect ourselves our consciousness to our higher self our inner being or guide and ask for some further support. Now in this moment, I invite you to imagine yourself at the center of a circle of all of your loved ones, friends and family, people you care about and they're all around you. Now we recognize that we are different people with everyone we know in all of these people have a certain image of us and some of those images can be very old if we have known these people for many years. and some of them can be a little stubborn to change, even if we feel like we have changed. Now recognize that you also hold an image of each and every one of these people all around you, which may or may not be accurate. And you may be holding on to old images that no longer apply. So you can do a personal inventory also about those you care about. And in this moment, even as we are self reflective, the practice that already gives us is to shine out to all those that we love the very highest, the best, most beautiful and radiant ideas of who they are. Imagine that you were as the son of a beautiful orb of brilliant light radiating out in all directions to all of these beautiful people that are in your life. And to each one, you can send a specific ray of light imagine them in their very best self are they going through a health crisis send them health? Are they challenged by something that has happened to them recently. Send them light and support a system them by imagining the very best outcome to the situation and holding to that in your imagination. You are a beam and a beacon of this high spiritual light that you visit with every time you do a meditation practice or a breath practice. You are visiting these higher and higher octaves of light and having these experiences there brings that light with you wherever you go. And even if you are not going anywhere you are sitting quietly thinking of someone you care about today will receive your images much more easily than your words. How would you think about them they disappointed you. That's very human. We've all disappointed someone at some point. Perhaps you can use your magical breath to breathe in beautiful spiritual light right at this moment. And as you breathe out, radiate that spiritual light to this person, it can simply be light, it does not have to be charged in any particular way. An oran tells us through this practice, as we are radiantly beautiful sharing our light and this higher spiritual energies that we are becoming so imbued with we begin to have a light conversation. We are speaking the language of light. And the beautiful, unmistakable thing that happens is that light comes back to us. It helps that person shift their impression of you. So what begins to come back to you from all of the people that you love and care about is your highest and best, most beautiful version of you. And as you recall from the beginning of our conversation today, oran tells us this is the highest truth of who we are is the most accurate. The higher and higher version of you is the most accurate let your heart filled with the joy and the grace of knowing that truth. Let it flow from your heart to all parts of your being all around your body. All through your emotions your mental body this is a Rush's seed of knowingness highest and best is the closest to the truth of who you are it is the most accurate just breathe with that for recognizing your true nature is in light brilliant beautiful complex patterning light and as you breathe out light into your being with your Holy Breath and you exhale it expands it fills in it radiates you lifts you it carries you it supports you there's freedom in this in this perspective of your truth it is yet a gentle form of light being gentle with oneself inclined speaking kindly as you would to your dearest friend or most beloved tip me there is a richness here even the freedom and openness the boundlessness we awaken to the true patterns of our purpose our self and our highest knowing to in this moment received from your guide inner being or higher self through knowing about you and your true nature and it can be in the form of words I am kind I'm healthy I listened for my inner wisdom and act upon it. I trust myself I am trustworthy I am good. I am good enough I am enough right might have no words just a sense of peace and right this things are right things are all right. Things are well Breathing that light. And as you exhale allow it to flow out all the cells of your body, nourishing them, soothing them. Clearing out any frequencies that are ready to be released easily and simply breathing in nourishment and release. Drop your shoulders away from your ears be as the sun, brilliant and beautiful light that you truly are. I bring my hands together at my heart and thanksgiving for each of you as listening for any act of sharing or kindness I look for all of you on the inner planes in the inner realms, and I find you as light and I'm sending each of you a beautiful packet of light upliftment and well being that made you peace, and Mr. Mahalo for listening.
