Chapter 11: Opening Your Intuition

August 26, 2024 Miriam Season 7 Episode 13

Your intuition is part of your sensory system. Through your intuition, you hear inner guidance from your Soul. In this practice, we explore all the ways intuition can be received by us: through our third eye, through our hearts, and through our gut. All these parts of our sensing ability can inform us of higher guidance, information and support. We use our breath to enliven our sense of intuition, making it more available and present for us. We have a deep encounter with our Soul, feeling the loving embrace of this great beingness that is our true self.

Miriam:

Music. Welcome to Miriam's meditations. Thank you so much for joining and being part of our practice today. Good for you for making it to a listening position where you can practice. I hope you're practicing regularly. You'll get so much benefit out of these breathing exercises if you do them on a regular basis. They're transformative. I've been talking with some of the students who attend the regular live class, which we have a number of people here today who are breathing and meditating with us. And transformation is at hand. And that's very, very exciting, even just getting a little more vitality and juice into your body by shaking loose your breathing mechanism, giving it some health and vitality. We'll change things for you. So today's episode, we are working still through our book personal power, through awareness by sending a Roman there's a link in the show notes on how to buy the book. There is actually an audio version of this book read by sanea herself. I'll put a link in the show notes for that as well, because her voice is so amazing and she's really lovely, lovely to listen to. So we're in chapter 12, opening your intuition. What is intuition? Asks Oren, and how does it operate? The beginning of this chapter, intuition is the ability to know without words, to sense the truth without explanations. Intuition operates beyond time and space. It is a link to your higher self, not bound by the physical body. It operates, knowing that past, present and future are simultaneous. It is the voice of your innermost self, your soul, which is always looking out for you. It does not say to you as the intellect might I must do this tomorrow. This is on my list. Instead, intuition says, wouldn't it be fun? Wouldn't it be joyful? This is what I want to do today. So let's close our eyes and just drop into our center and know that these exercises, these breath exercises, and this meditation practice, are a very powerful way to learn to find your intuition voice, to listen to it and to act upon it. So just notice how your breathing is today, as you draw your attention and focus deeply within you, and as you breathe out, you can let it fall out of you like a sigh or just an Open mouth, release and relaxation, exhaling fully and completely, letting your shoulders drop away from your ears, the back of your neck elongate, the crown of the head reaching toward the Sky, and feeling your feet also on the floor, your seat, upon your chair or cushion, and let each breath become really easy and peaceful you Ah, now I'm going to speak a little bit more about our intuition. And while I do that, I'd like you to practice balanced breathing all on your own, at your own pace and rhythm. And balance breathing is breathing into a count, let's say, a count of four or six, pausing for a count of two or three, exhaling for a count of four or six and pausing for a count of two or three, so the breath falls into a really nice rhythm. Now we've all had experiences with our intuition. Intuition can be thought to come from the center of the head, not the brain, exactly, but perhaps deep within the brain, the pineal gland and. In the etheric body, there is also a brilliant light here in the center of the head, and some of the breath exercises that we do clarify and cleanse the patterns around and within the pineal gland and the intuition and sometimes, as we are moving through our lives, we hear that inner voice. It passes as quickly like perhaps a bird across the sky or a car passing on a road, and then we swiftly forget and move on. And then perhaps we see immediately why our intuition was speaking to us when we are brought up short. Perhaps there is a congestion on the road where we're traveling, or we pick the wrong line at the grocery store, because our intuition can help us with these ordinary moments. And you go, Dart, I knew it. I should have

Miriam:

Sometimes, if we follow our intuition and get off the road at an unfamiliar place, because our intuition has indicated that might be a good idea, we never find out about the traffic congestion or the accident that we avoided. So here's where you just have to have some faith that you, your soul, your greater being, is watching and offering wisdom and information. And as you do your breath practice and your meditation, it becomes easier and easier to hear and act because you are freeing yourself of inner clutter and patterns that no longer serve you, belief patterns also that were useful At one time and no longer serve now. All right, rest from your breathing, your balanced breathing, and one of the very first exercises we do in our pranayama practice is the opening of the third eye. So bring your first two fingers up to touch your forehead and think about your forehead, and in an energy fashion, and that as you draw your breath in, here you are drawing energy into a portal that is open. This is your intuitive opening. And as we draw our circles, our spirals on the third eye area and draw the breath in, we create that cleansing and clearing of this very important sensory capacity that we are expanding and learning to use more effectively. So let's do our 36 spirals going toward the left first and breathing in in a soft pattern at the third eye, 123456789, 789, and 1011, 1213, 1415, 1617, 1819, 2021, 20 220-324-2526, 2526 2720 820-930-3130, 230-334-3536, pause. Now inhale at your third eye, and before you move, your fingers, spiral them back in the opposite direction just one time and tap your third eye. This little motion, which I don't believe we've ever done before in this class, creates an energy lock that opens keeps the third eye open. So as you move through your day after class, notice if anything is different about your third eye and your intuitive perception. So now let's bring. The heart and mind together so that the wisdom of the heart can inform our mind, and that creates a oneness. So breathe in at your third eye, and exhale into your heart and again, breathing in at your third eye, surrender the breath to the heart. Heart and mind are beginning to blend. Breathe in at your third eye and exhale, surrendering, releasing to the heart. Breathe in at your heart. Let the breath rise, illuminating the mind and exhale back down into the sweetness of the heart. Breathe in at the heart, lift, blend with the mind and exhale, surrendering to the heart and once more, breathe in at the heart, lift and exhale back down into the heart. Heart and Mind are wedded in a spiritual union. Your heart has its own intuitive capacity. Your heart knows many, many things. So as we bring the heart and the mind together, we expand our ability to listen deeply to our own intuitive wisdom, and it creates a broader signal for us to follow alternate nostril breathing. Breathe in through both sides of your nose. Exhale through both sides of your nose. Now close off your right nostril by pressing with your thumb. Breathe in the left side, only close off your left nostril with your fingers. Lift up your thumb. Breathe out, breathe in same side. Close off with your thumb, lift up your fingers. Breathe out. Breathe in same. Close off out other, in same with out other. Insane out other in insane, let your hand drop to your lap and breathe out both. Sometimes that alternate nostril breathing can make your nose a little damp, but it's very, very good for your vagus nerve. As you are pressing on your nose side to side you have it has the effect of stimulating the vagus nerve, which is the longest nerve in the body and runs up and down your central channel, very important to keep that nervous tissue healthy. All right, let's open our eyes and begin tapping on the breathing space, tapping, tapping, tapping your upper back, tapping your lower ribs, tapping, tapping, all right, pause, fingertips on your upper chest, inhale, tapping, tapping, tapping, patting, as you retain the breath, padding with the slat of Your hands, patting, exhale, let it go again, tapping, tapping, tapping, patting, as you retain the breath, padding all over any place you can reach. Exhale, let it go. Palms up, eyes open for a cleansing breath. Breathe in. Exhale, it out with three short puffs. Hands again, breathe in, exhale, hands on either side of your rib cage for rib stretching breaths, inhale, a full and complete breath rising to the top. And now, as you exhale, press with your hands, move your ribs as much as you can without pain. Don't cause pain. Inhale and press. Notice how much more your ribs are moving these days, one more time, breathe in and press eyes open palms up, cleansing breath. Breathe in, cleanse. Once more you. Close your eyes. Let's do two retained breaths and a couple of cleansing breaths. Exhale all the air in your lungs to prepare now breathe in full and complete breath rising to the top. At the top, pause, Retain the breath and just stretch and open around your breath and let it go. Exhale completely and Now breathe in again, full and complete breath. Pause, maintain the breath. Exhale, eyes open, palms up, breathe in. Cleanse again. Cleanse eyes closed, minor Yogi exercise, inhale, arms arc into a prayer pose above your head, I am whole and perfect, even as my soul, spirit, infinite being, is perfect within me and exhale, as your arms drop down to your lap once more, inhale, arms arc into a prayer pose above Your head, I call forth from the center of my being, my perfect blueprint of being, and exhale as your arms drop down to your lap now for your next few rounds of breath, breathe in a very peaceful way, and imagine you are drawing a brilliant, beautiful, golden light in with each breath. And as you exhale, imagine that golden light is circulating all throughout all the cells of your body, illuminating them from within. You have trillions of cells, and there are also the microbes that live with you, upon your body, within your body, and we can respect and honor the work that they do to create harmony within our being and provide us with special services by allowing that light to circulate within them, as well honoring our microbiome and allowing the golden light to circulate through all the systems of your body, through your nervous system, your digestive system, your circulatory system, your lymphatic system, through all the various organs, your skin, muscle and bone, as you use your breath in this way, you collect the light you. And circulate the light. And now in this moment, if there is any particular portion of your physical body that could use some additional light, breathe directly into that place on your body, and exhale, releasing anything that can be released in this moment, you can use your breath as a cleanser. Breathe in again, to that place in your body, drawing the golden, beautiful light within, deep into the cells, into the energy pattern that is the foundation of our physical being. And as you exhale, allow anything that is ready to be released to flow right out of you. And then when you look back at that place with your third eye, with your intuitive quality, with your imagination, you can add to the pattern that creates the body in the first place, beauty, or a high degree of tone, like when you tone a muscle, you may even have a visualization of this part of your body, this pattern that you can add the brilliant light to making it more Beautiful, more harmonious, more healthy, filled with well being. You. This is a lovely exercise to do as you're falling asleep. You can do it for your emotional body, breathing in and out of your heart space, drawing light into all of your emotional circuits, healing, healing your past. In this chapter of our book, Orin, asks us to send light to our past. So let's draw some light into our hearts and as we exhale, just imagine that it is flowing out to a path of light behind you that you have already walked all of what you have done in your life has brought you to This moment. Let yourself be peaceful about all of the life you have lived thus far. If there is any particular place in your past, where you feel like some light could be shared. Do that now with your breath. Just think of it as a shape or a form or just a stopping point along your past. Draw your breath in and draw the light in, and as you exhale, forgive, heal, release, surrender, you have always simply been doing the best that you can do, and in this moment, the harvest is love and peace and understanding wisdom and knowing you. Now, as you are breathing, know that you also have a sense of intuition in your gut, your Hara that placed in your body, around the navel, or maybe just below the navel, or perhaps just above wherever you feel it in your body when you have A gut sense about something, this is another form of intuition that can serve you. You have a sort of Plexus of nerves in your gut. You might place your hands on your abdomen. You. And feel the warmth of your hands wherever you decided to place your hands. That's where your gut sense is, and this is a quality of intuition. It tends to serve us very deeply in the physical world, keeping us safe navigating, moving through, looking for patterns in the energy that will serve our highest purpose. See if you can feel in your physical body this quality of intuition you so now we have three intuitive centers a brilliant familiar light in our head, our heart sense and Our gut knowing. See these three centers of our beingness, perhaps they have a color or not, perhaps just a felt sense. Breathe in through your third eye and let the breath travel to the heart and then to the gut. And as you exhale, let it travel back up and out the crown of the head. Breathe in again through your third eye, intuition, heart, gut and back up and out the crown of the head. Now just draw the breath in at the crown of the head and let it go through your center core. And imagine that this is just a column of light, and it goes all the way to your the base of your body, and you can breathe in so that the light flows in from above and exhale back up and out the central pillar of light, just breathing on your own. Let your intuition guide you as to how this can be in greatest service to who you are in this moment, let yourself invent your own type of breathing or energy practice, recognizing all the different ways that you can receive intuitive wisdom. Perhaps one of these three centers is not as clear as another, so you might want to add some light, particularly there with your breath. But listen deeply in this moment, letting the light circulate and the breath circulate in Whatever way, whatever way serves you in This moment. You now, let yourself expand into your body of light, soften into the light cocoon that is all around you. Let your consciousness just be still. Let yourself recognize the light. You truly are. And in this moment, we are going to ask for a special message from our soul. Your soul is always reaching toward you, and our intuitive channels are our way of hearing and listening and acting upon the wisdom that is being offered to us that is designed specifically for you, from your inner being, from your soul, you there is a downpouring of light as our souls come near. And if you like, in this moment, open to your soul in a new way. And in a more open fashion, knowing this is easy, this can be easy for you. Your soul loves you. Is you beyond measure? And take a moment now, if you like, to blend with your soul, and in this moment, ask for and receive greater connectivity with your soul and a higher degree of ability to Hear your intuitive messages coming from the soul. I open to my soul's wisdom more and more all the time.

Remember who you are.

Miriam:

You are being of light, expansive, joy filled, loving, let yourself expand becoming larger, more and more brilliantly filled with beautiful patterns of Light. These light patterns are one way your soul communicates with you. And now one more shift in deepening your connection to your soul, opening to your intuitive wisdom, knowing that as you move out into the world after this practice, you will more and more clearly receive wisdom, guidance and support. You will know when to act and when to be still. You and you will know that you know beyond faith, you are stepping into a higher level, a higher octave of knowing and being, and your soul welcomes you and embraces you, fills you with this brilliant love, expanding your capacity. For life and vitality, all the way back to your physical body and all of the molecules and atoms that you have collected that you use, breathe beautiful light. Nara, right, let yourself return to an awareness of your breathing body. This serves to ground you back into your physical presence and bring back with you as much light and brilliance, love and beauty that you would like from this encounter with the soul in the soul's plane. So even as we move our consciousness back to our breathing body, we are not closing off our connection to the soul. We are simply shifting focus so that we are aware of and prepared to move back out into ordinary reality, refreshed and invigorated, enlivened and blessed, joyful and filled with light.
